Clapton, London E5, doesn´t have a lot to
offer the visitor, in fact it doesn´t have a lot to offer
anyone. The only jobs available in Clapton are the sort you can
get two
to five years for.

It is Friday night and the Wolf-Pack has just chucked out
its last drinkers. The manager Mr Docherty and the barman Terry
are clearing up when the telephone rings. It’s a travel agent
from Sweden and they have a problem. They are coming to London
with a group of 37 visitors from Sweden who are expecting
Christmas shopping and a show. Unfortunatly the pub in Greenich
has let them down and they want to know if the Wolf Pack could do
them a "typical cockney music-hall evening."
Although he is not really sure what is expected of them, Mr
Docherty realise that here, at last, is a chance to pull the pub
out of it's financial difficulties. He accepts the offer. This
leaves him with a problem. Beacause a typical evening in the Wolf
Pack is something any sane tourist would pay not to have to
experience.....
Desperate Acts is a comedy with music, a farce written for twelve
characters but played by two, which gives a picture of life in
London that you won't experience as a visitor. Unless, of course,
you visit Clapton.
